Queensland Blind Association Inc. provides support to legally blind members by offering financial assistance for essential everyday needs.

What they do

The Association’s focus is to provide financial assistance towards everyday necessities. Financial assistance may include funds towards house maintenance, white goods and select furniture items, air conditioning, electricity, rates or rent, communication and house insurance. Other financial assistance may be available towards purchasing computers, smartphones, tablets and magnification units for personal use only (software is available through NDIS and My Aged Care). Members may also be eligible for back-to-school assistance for their children.

The Queensland Blind Association Inc. is a not-for-profit independent blindness organisation and is not affiliated with any other blindness agency or government department. However, they strengthen and build strategic partnerships with other agencies to promote better outcomes for their members.

QBA Shop

The QBA Shop offers a range of everyday living products designed to support people who are blind or have low vision. These products help individuals carry out daily tasks more easily and safely, promoting independence and full participation in their communities.

They are a Registered Provider of Low Vision and Talking Equipment items with NDIS and My Aged Care.

Shop Hours: Monday to Thursday 9 am to 2 pm.
All other times by appointment only.
