Queensland (QLD) Taxi Subsidy Scheme
Eligibility requirements for and benefits of the QLD Taxi Subsidy Scheme.

The Queensland Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme supports QLD residents unable to use public transport due to disability by subsidising the cost of taxi rides.
If eligible, 50 percent of your trip will be subsidised up to fares of $60. You can use a digital smartcard, which operates just like a credit card, to pay the subsidised portion of your trip. Then, simply pay your portion of the fare whichever way you prefer. A $25 Lift Payment incentive is available to drivers for transporting TSS members who are wheelchair users. This payment is made directly to the taxi company by the scheme and will not affect your fare.
To be eligible, you will need:
- To be a permanent resident of Queensland.
- To have total vision loss or a severe visual impairment in both eyes (Available based on individual need and scheme criteria as assessed and recommended by your eyecare professional).
To apply for the scheme, download and complete the Taxi Subsidy Scheme Application form or call 1300 134 755 if you have issues using the form. If you are travelling interstate, you can apply for up to 20 interstate travel vouchers a year by emailing the TSS office.
For more information, you can email TSSU@translink.com.au or call 1300 134 755. You can also access a digital information booklet about the scheme here.
