South Australia (SA) taxi fare subsidy scheme
Eligibility requirements for and benefits of the South Australian taxi fare subsidy scheme.

The South Australian Transport Subsidy Scheme (SATSS) supports SA residents unable to use public transport due to permanent disability by subsidising the cost of taxi rides.
If eligible, 50 percent of your trip will be subsidised, for fares up to $40 total. If you are a permanent wheelchair user, you are eligible for 75 percent subsidised for trips up to $60. Successful applicants will be issued a unique ID card they must present at the beginning and end of their journey for their driver to scan, which will automatically calculate their remaining portion of the fare.
To be eligible for the scheme, you must be unable to travel on public transport safely either with or without a companion or carer. From there applications will be processed based on individual need and scheme criteria as assessed and recommended by your eyecare professional.
To apply for the scheme, download and complete the SATSS application form or call 1300 360 840 if you have issues using the form. If you are travelling interstate, you can request interstate travel vouchers by calling the S A T S S.
